School grades are out! Did you see how Armstrong did? You can’t spell Armstrong without a really big A, I guess! Amazing job, Eagles! You’ve set the bar high, and we couldn’t be more proud of you. Your proficiency and growth point totals were the fourth highest in the district, and you were one of only 93 schools in the entire state to achieve the A grade. Outstanding!
School grades take into account student proficiency scores in math, language arts, science, and writing and student growth scores when comparing students against other similar-achieving students from around the state. The metric is a scale out of 600 points split evenly between proficiency (300 points) and growth (300 points). We celebrated the Armstrong student proficiency scores released at the end of October, but, this week, the Utah State Office of Education released the remaining parts to the overall equation, including the student growth scores. Armstrong moved up the rankings even more and finds itself among the highest achieving schools in the state of Utah.
