Bad Air Days
During the cold winter months, we monitor the quality of air frequently using the Utah Department of Air Quality’s web site. When the air quality is orange students with asthma and other sensitivities enjoy recess indoors. When the air quality is rated red, or worse, we all play inside. Hillside has hired an additional adult to help in the mornings. Supervision for students on the playground now begins at 8:30. Students will come in before the bell in the event of bad air, dangerous ice, low temperatures, high winds, or other conditions that make it too dangerous or uncomfortable to play outside. Students in kindergarten and first grade will sit quietly along the wall nearest the classrooms while the older students wait to be picked up by their teachers from the multi-purpose room. Please let us know if your student has asthma or other health issues so we can accommodate their needs.
