Elementary Principals and Secretaries –
Some of your parents are contacting the district and local media to find out why you are NOT keeping their children indoors during recess on what is “clearly,” a poor air quality day. Obviously, you have protocols from the department of health and check the DEQ website daily for guidance. 🙂
We have posted on our district Facebook page an explanation of how that process works with some visuals that may help parents understand the protocol better. PLEASE share that post (https://www.facebook.com/GraniteSchoolDistrict) on your own Facebook page or school website and other social media so we can better educate parents about this process.
As always, some parents may feel that their specific students may fall under the “sensitive” category which means they should be kept indoors on an orange day like today. PLEASE be reasonable in accommodating these parents as appropriate.
Thanks for your help in sharing this information with the public!
