I am very excited to begin a new adventure as Principal at Spring Lane Elementary School. I have been so impressed already with the commitment of outstanding teachers, parents, the PTA, and our staff. When I visited the sixth grade basketball game last spring, there was an electrifying feeling in the room that speaks to the tremendous future of our children.
Here is a little bit about my background:
I was raised in a large family on a farm in St. Johns, Arizona. I grew up learning the value of work and played a lot of sports. My wife and I have been married for 13 years and we live in South Jordan with our four beautiful children. Some of my hobbies include: fishing, running, exercise, reading, laughing, technology, cooking, gardening, dark chocolate, Spanish, Portuguese, and, most importantly, family time. Life is good!
As an educator, I earned degrees from the University of Utah and Brigham Young University. I taught English at Clayton Middle School in the Salt Lake School District for five years. I am going into my fifth year in administration in Granite School District. My most recent assignment was Principal of Lincoln Elementary School, where I fell in love with a diverse, vibrant student body and dedicated teachers.
I look forward to serving the Spring Lane community with all of my energy, dedication, and heart. There are so many great opportunities at our school with Chinese Dual Immersion, technology, outstanding parents and volunteers, and student leadership. We will do tremendous things together!
My vision is that we can build upon all of the good we already possess and that we will become a high achieving school in academics, behavior, and technology. Every student has infinite wonder and capacity! We bring out the best in ourselves when we put the wellbeing of children first and then work together. As a faculty and staff, we pledge our collaboration, caring, and our commitment to you as students and parents. Like the phoenix, together we rise!
