Celebrating Literacy – Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening

Write one or read one!
Author J.A. Trevor will be back again this year to work with students during the day and talk with parents at night. You can purchase his book, Only Gingers Can Be Witches, through Amazon and have it signed by the author himself! Write your child’s FIRST AND LAST name in PEN inside the book and send it to school with your child. We’ll collect the books, J.A. Trevor will autograph them, and we’ll return them to your child.
New York Best Selling author & illustrator Marc and Caralyn Buehner will be presenting at our school-wide assembly the afternoon of March 3rd. Join us for a fabulous day of writing, illustrating, and reading!
Some of their notable titles include:
Snowmen and Night series, Fanny’s Dream, Dex, the Heart of a Hero, The Adventures of Taxi Dog, and more. Check out some of their books and read them with your child. It will make meeting them so much more meaningful!
From 6:00-8:00 we’ll have literacy activities to do with your family, J.A. Trevor will be presenting in the library, Taylorsville Library will be here, student writing and video montage, amazing raffle prizes including new books, stuffed animals, Hogle Zoo swag, Kendamas, storytelling props, and more!
All parents and families are welcome to join us for our day and night of literacy fun!
You can now check out electronic books even if the school library is closed. Find the link to OverDrive e-library under the web links tab. Students use their student ID and computer password to access books. We encourage you to try it for the long holiday break coming up!
