Dear Westbrook Families,
Thank you for all of those who attended and participated in the activities that occurred in February. We had over 300 parents and students at our science night, we had a wonderful turnout at our talent show, and we served many hungry families with our food drive! Thank you for everyone who helped with the organization of these events.
I hope many of you have noticed some safety improvements that are occurring at Westbrook. The first thing you and your student(s) may have noticed is the closure of the fence. The purpose behind closing this fence line was to ensure no one would have access to the playground during school hours and to help the students exit the school near the crosswalk. Another addition we have added is the extra support outside, before and after school. In addition to teachers ensuring that students are learning, they are also taking on a big job of ensuring that students are arriving to school, and leaving each day safely. Please note that they are there to help keep traffic moving in the parking lot and to ensure that both parents and students use the crosswalk to ensure safety at all times.
As the end of the year approaches, I wanted to take a moment to remind parents about our volunteer policy at Granite School District. If you are planning to attend a school field trip that requires you to be alone with students, then you will need to complete the volunteer application. You can find the application on the Granite School District web page or by using this link: https://hr.graniteschools.org/View_Position.aspx Please feel free to call the front office for any questions you may have. 385.646.5085
