The holidays are fast approaching, and excitement is mounting in the eyes of our children. This is in important time of year where we share traditions and friendships. It is also the time of year when children, and others, tend to stay inside more and spread germs. We are hopeful that germs won’t spread, but extra precaution is needed to better safe guard our health. We want to share the holidays, not germs, kids need to be in school.
Everyday Counts is a program, a contest, and a way to encourage our kids to be on time to school and in attendance everyday. Did you ever have cause to think how being late for school just 10 minutes a day really means that a child has lost 50 minutes of instructional time? With the emphasis being so high on academic achievement, not missing school is critical to a child’s ability to stay on track with his or her learning.
As an incentive, we will be able to reward children whose attendance improves throughout the coming weeks and months. Each child who has had zero tardies or absences, or improves in not being tardy or absent to school will be eligible for a drawing each week.
Please encourage and help your children to attend school everyday, because attendance in school everyday truly counts in their educations.
