2018-19 Land Trust Funds Summary for Parents
During the 2018-19 school year Land Trust funding was used to lower class size by purchasing one additional teacher in the school. In addition, an instructional aide was funded through Land Trust to oversee children on a daily basis using educational technology to increase both reading and math skills while teachers collaborated in grade level teams. Licenses for ST Math, a computer-based instructional curriculum, were purchased for use by teachers with their students weekly to supplement math curriculum and support spatial/temporal conceptualization of core math concepts with the goal of completing 75% of ST Math curriculum before end of year testing in grades that implemented it (K-4).
Community Council members help make important decisions on school programs and calendars, and approved the School Student Achievement Plan and Land Trust Plan and Title 1 Plan. They are a valuable component in the structure of Academy Park. If you are interested in joining Community Council, contact one of the members.
