Dear Academy Park Families,
As we move into the winter months, the weather may impact our school days. We will no longer have “Snow Days” where we cancel school. Instead, when the weather makes it unsafe to travel, Granite School District will initiate Delayed Start or Distance Learning School Days. On Distance Learning Days, school will continue with the same schedule as a regular school day (8:10 – 2:55). Teachers will provide learning activities and will be available throughout the day to help students with work and answer any questions. If the weather forecast shows that a Distance Learning Day is likely, we will try and send home chrome books with students in order for students to have a device available for learning the next day.
The District will send notification about Distance Learning Days or Delayed Start Days through social media, email, and Blackboard messages. As a school, we will also communicate through Facebook, Class Dojo, and Blackboard messages.
Each teacher has created a learning plan for Distance Learning Days. Your child’s teacher will reach out with more details and information about schoolwork on Distance Learning Days.
Thank you for sending your children to Academy Park Elementary! Please reach out with any questions.
