Dear Arcadia Community,
As most of you are already aware, the Granite School District Board of Education has approved a feeder pattern change for the Arcadia community.
With this change students living in the Arcadia boundary will begin attending Bennion Jr and Taylorsville High starting fall 2019. However, students that are currently attending Bonneville Jr and Cottonwood High, and wish to continue at those schools, will be provided a bus for one year (2019-2020) to Bonneville Jr and three years (through the 2021-2022 school year) to Cottonwood High. This allows students to finish at the school where they began.
As described in previous community meetings, this new feeder pattern will unfortunately require a change in busing for many students. Many students living south of Arcadia Elementary will no longer be eligible for busing and will need to provide their own transportation to Bennion Jr. However, all students will be eligible for busing to Taylorsville High School. For more specific busing information please contact the Granite School District Transportation Department at 385-646-4280.
It is anticipated that crossing guards will be provided by local law enforcement at a yet-to-be determined intersection across 5400 South. As we progress towards implementation of this new feeder pattern, Bennion Jr High will provide updates as appropriate on the approved safe walking route.
