Dear Arcadia Elementary Parents:
We have more information we would like to get to you. As of today, August 12th, we are scheduled to be on a 5-day school week. Classes will begin August 24th for 1st through 6th grade, and our Kindergarten classes will begin August 27th. These dates are for those joining us face-to-face, and those doing distance learning.
Attached is a parent letter that we strongly encourage you to read over. It contains a lot of important information to know before the first days of school.
For those of you doing distance learning, we will be handing out chromebooks on August 24th. Chromebooks will be available to pick up from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. If you are unable to make it on Monday, the 24th, you will need to call to make an appointment.
Class lists will be available next week by Wednesday, the 19th. Please remember that we have distance learning teachers and face-to-face teachers. Please do not ask to be moved from one teacher to another as we have divided students up to the best of our ability. If you have a major extenuating circumstance, you may speak with me but there is no guarantee that your student will be moved. This has been a difficult process which has required much shifting of students.
Distance learning parents: We will have lunch for your student available every day from 10:50 – 11:10 a.m. If you want a lunch, it is imperative that you come during that time.
Please be advised that students cannot be dropped off early at school any longer. They should arrive around 8:30 a.m. to get in line for the bell to ring at 8:35 a.m. unless they eat breakfast. Breakfast is from 8:15 – 8:30 daily. Playground equipment is off limits before and after school. For contact tracing purposes, we really need you to adhere to this directive.
The State and the district have mandated masks for all students. Please have your student wear a mask the first day of school. At school, each student will be provided a cloth mask from the State. It is imperative that students follow this rule as we want to keep everyone as safe as possible.
We’re excited to have school in session. We’re planning for a great start to the year.
