Our purpose is to address the academic needs of students at the local level by evaluating and providing opportunities and programs for their benefit.<\/p>\n<p>Community Councils play a very significant role in improving student achievement in each local school. By sharing their unique perspectives and expertise, parents, teachers, and administrators have a wonderful opportunity to address the critical academic needs of the school.<\/p>\n<p>The charge to analyze data, identify needs, set goals, and align resources\u2014and then report back on progress\u2013 establishes Community Councils as providing front-line accountability to our school communities.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the Community Council usually serve for a term of two years. Positions are staggered to provide some openings each year. Candidates submit a form in August, and elections are held when multiple candidates are seeking the same position. directly influence the way LAND Trust funds are used during the school year, which can include programs, materials, and other education-based solutions.<\/p>\n\n      <p We will fund two PLC Assistants to provide a STEM rotation time and an additional PE rotation for students in every grade. This will provide enhanced STEM instruction, but more importantly, it will help to support embedded grade-level collaboration on a biweekly basis. This collaboration will allow teachers to analyze student math data and design interventions and extensions to meet the needs of all students. These interventions and enrichments will be administered in small groups and FLEX time. Historically, we have noted that this has a significant positive impact on student outcomes, particularly in math. responsibilities of the council include:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Creating all components of the School LAND Trust Plan, to include the Goal Statement, Academic Area, Measurement, Action Plan Steps, and Expenditures.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Advising and making recommendations to school and school district administrators and the local school board regarding:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>the school and its programs<\/li>\r\n \t<li>school district programs<\/li>\r\n \t<li>a child access routing plan<\/li>\r\n \t<li>safe technology utilization and digital citizenship<\/li>\r\n \t<li>other issues relating to the community environment for students<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Partnering with the school\u2019s principal and other administrators to ensure that adequate on and off campus Internet filtering is installed and consistently configured to prevent viewing of harmful content by students and school personnel.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>In accordance with state board rule regarding school community council expenditures and funding limits: working with students, families, and educators to develop and incorporate safety principles at the school, and holding at least an annual discussion with the school\u2019s principal and district administrators regarding safety principles.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Providing input to the school\u2019s principal on a positive behaviors plan.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\n          <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n        <div class=\"gsdscc-rules-accordion border border-1 secondary-color-border mb-2\">\n          <h3 id=\"rules-member-expectations\" as the primary focus.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Listen to and value diverse opinions.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Ensure that the perspectives of those the council represents are considered in discussions.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Be accountable for their actions and expect accountability from others.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Act with integrity.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\n          <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n        <div
