Our purpose is to address the academic needs of students at the local level by evaluating and providing opportunities and programs for their benefit.<\/p>\n<p>Community Councils play a very significant role in improving student achievement in each local school. By sharing their unique perspectives and expertise, parents, teachers, and administrators have a wonderful opportunity to address the critical academic needs of the school.<\/p>\n<p>The charge to analyze data, identify needs, set goals, and align resources\u2014and then report back on progress\u2013 establishes Community Councils as providing front-line accountability to our school communities.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the Community Council usually serve for a term of two years. Positions are staggered to provide some openings each year. Candidates submit a form in August, and elections are held when multiple candidates are seeking the same position. These elections take place in early September.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you to the Armstrong Community Council for working together to support ALL students learning at the highest levels.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"schedule-agenda\" class=\"gsdscc-section-heading primary-color-bg p-3 text-white\">\n        Meeting Schedule and Agenda\n      <\/h2><p>Community members are invited to attend council meetings, but are not voting members. paraeducators working under the direct supervision of licensed educators to support students in small group and one-on-one ELA instruction. We will continue to bolster our collection of online library books in the SORA platform. This will provide more reading opportunities for students both here at school and in their homes. We will fund two PLC Assistants to provide a tech rotation time and an additional PE rotation for students in every grade. This will provide enhanced technology instruction, but more importantly, it will help to support embedded grade-level collaboration on a biweekly basis. This collaboration will allow teachers to analyze student math data and design interventions and extensions to meet the needs of all students. These interventions and enrichments will be administered in small groups and FLEX time.
