Hello Bonneville Family,
I hope each of our Vikings has had a chance to enjoy a well-deserved break. I know it’s never easy to say goodbye to time off, so I encourage everyone to savor the final moments of rest. I’m excited to welcome our students back to school on Tuesday, January 7th, with the first bell ringing at 7:40 am.
When we return to school on Tuesday, we will be beginning a new semester and for most of our Vikings they will have adjustments in their schedule. For the most part, students will continue to have the same classes as during the 1st semester, but just in a different order. I encourage all Vikings to double-check their class schedules by logging into FOCUS. Remember, schedules won’t be printed, so students can use their Chromebooks to access a copy. For further information and instructions, please go to https://tinyurl.com/umpz8t9. If you have a hole in your schedule (meaning you are missing a class during a specific period), then please go to the counseling center during the period that you do not have a class. Your amazing counselors will assist you into getting into a class.
You may also have a change in lunch for the 2nd semester. Please look at your new class schedule and find your 5th period teacher. Lunches are determined by your 5th period teacher:
1st Lunch
Carter Christiansen Henry J. Johnson Leppard
Nielsen Parr Sagers Tripp Tzovaras
2nd Lunch
Anderson Bringhurst Evans Herrington Houghton
Hunsaker James Kendall Olson Pankow
Willis Yang
I am also excited to announce that Bonneville Junior High is introducing the Talking Points program to help improve communication between families and school staff. This free tool bridges language barriers by allowing messages to be sent and received in families’ preferred languages. We hope this makes it easier for you to stay connected and engaged in your child’s education. Look for messages from your student’s teachers early next week, as they will be introducing themselves. We’re thrilled to offer this service and can’t wait to improve our communication with all our families!

Getting Started With Talking Points
As we embark on a new year, it’s common to set resolutions. However, I believe that every day offers a new opportunity for a fresh start. By reflecting on the previous day, we can adjust our habits and decisions to better align with our goals. This year, I encourage all our Vikings to look closely at their choices and think about any adjustments that may help them grow. Remember, if we don’t change our habits, we’re simply repeating the same year. Let’s make 2025 a year of positive transformation and growth for our Bonneville community.
Mr./Señor Bailey
Student Information for Parents
To keep parents informed and engaged with what’s happening in our classrooms, we will update the grade-level documents each week. Teachers will also include a question you can ask your student to spark discussions about their learning at home. Simply click on the grade-level “button” below to access the document.

Personal Electronic Devices Policy
Starting Tuesday, October 15th, personal electronic devices will no longer be allowed during lunch periods. This aligns with the Granite School Board’s decision for all K-8 students, encouraging face-to-face social interaction (as referenced in The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt, Ch. 5). Devices should be out of sight either in backpacks, lockers or left at home. If a device is seen or heard, it will be taken and held in the main office until the end of the day. Multiple violations will require a parent/guardian to pick up the device. Bonneville Junior High is not liable for lost or stolen personal devices.
