Hello Bonneville Family,
I want to take a moment to recognize our amazing Vikings, faculty, and staff for the incredible effort they put into returning to school this past week. Coming back after a well-deserved break is never easy, especially when it means saying goodbye to that precious relaxation time. Yet, it’s inspiring to see how excited our students are to reconnect with friends and teachers. The positive energy in our building is truly palpable, and for those who choose to embrace it, the benefits of that belief are clear.
Believe it or not, we are already looking ahead to the next school year! January is a busy month as we meet with future students and their families, guiding them as they begin their own Viking Legacy. We’re excited to host our incoming 6th graders for Viking Night on Wednesday, January 22nd. This event is a wonderful opportunity for current 5th graders and their families to come see what Bonneville Junior High is all about and learn about the great experiences that await them.
When I meet with students—whether for academic support or social guidance—I often discuss how the choices they make today shape the results they will experience tomorrow. I like to use the analogy of arriving at a fork in the road, where students are faced with two paths: one may feel more comfortable or require less effort, while the other might seem challenging or uncomfortable at first, but offers opportunities for growth and learning. Just as I remind myself each day, I encourage all of our Vikings to take the path that may be harder in the moment but will ultimately help them grow stronger and more resilient in the future.
I’m so proud of our Vikings, and I’m grateful for the positive energy and commitment that everyone brings to our school each day. I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead!
Mr./Señor Bailey

Personal Electronic Devices Policy
Starting Tuesday, October 15th, personal electronic devices will no longer be allowed during lunch periods. This aligns with the Granite School Board’s decision for all K-8 students, encouraging face-to-face social interaction (as referenced in The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt, Ch. 5). Devices should be out of sight either in backpacks, lockers or left at home. If a device is seen or heard, it will be taken and held in the main office until the end of the day. Multiple violations will require a parent/guardian to pick up the device. Bonneville Junior High is not liable for lost or stolen personal devices.
