Hello Bonneville Family,
Welcome back, Bonneville families! We hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable Spring Break. Taking time to recharge is not only healthy—it helps us return with the energy and focus needed to finish the school year strong.
A huge shout out to our Debate Team for representing Bonneville so well at Districts! We’re also incredibly proud of the students, families, and staff who brought Cultural Night to life. It was a beautiful evening that highlighted the rich diversity that makes Bonneville Junior High such a vibrant and inclusive community.
As we look ahead, we have some exciting things coming up:
- Bonneville Student Body Elections are just around the corner! 7th graders who are interested in running should see Mrs. Houghton in Room 111 for more information.
- This week is National Library Week—a perfect time to stop by and thank our two incredible librarians for all they do to support student learning and curiosity.
- RISE Assessments begin this week in our English classes. These state assessments are designed to measure how students are progressing through the year. While the results do not affect promotion to the next grade, we encourage every student to give their best effort. Please help by making sure your student gets plenty of rest, eats a good breakfast, and listens carefully to teacher instructions during testing days.
Let’s keep up the great momentum and finish the year with purpose and pride. We’re so grateful for the continued support of our Bonneville community!
Mr./Señor Bailey

2025 Boundary Study of Area 5 in the Granite School District is underway by the District’s Population Analysis Committee (PAC) and they are seeking input. Here is the information to best help you and how Bonneville Junior High is involved:
The study is focused on the elementary schools:
- This is an Elementary school study.
- Secondary schools are being notified because we start with a broad canvas to include everyone, but the focus is on Elementary boundary changes and closures.
- Boundary or feeder pattern adjustments to secondary schools could occur as a result of elementary changes.
Upcoming public meetings:
- Joint School Community Council Meeting Wednesday, April 16, 2025, 6-7:30 Churchill Media Center
Feedback:
Please take the time to learn about the process and how the study is completed prior to submitting your suggestions. Talking Points program to help improve communication between families and school staff. This free tool bridges language barriers by allowing messages to be sent and received in families’ preferred languages. We hope this makes it easier for you to stay connected and engaged in your child’s education. Look for messages from your student’s teachers early next week, as they will be introducing themselves. We’re thrilled to offer this service and can’t wait to improve our communication with all our families!

Getting Started With Talking Points
Personal Electronic Devices Policy
This aligns with the Granite School Board’s decision for all K-8 students, encouraging face-to-face social interaction (as referenced in The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt, Ch. 5). Devices should be out of sight either in backpacks, lockers or left at home. If a device is seen or heard, it will be taken and held in the main office until the end of the day. Multiple violations will require a parent/guardian to pick up the device. Bonneville Junior High is not liable for lost or stolen personal devices.
