Dr. Jacklin has been a teacher in Granite School District since 1985. She has taught many subjects through the years including psychology, sociology, World history, Civics, Utah history, world geography, physical education, American history and has coached women's volleyball, basketball and soccer. Dr. Jacklin has received the prestigious Huntsman Teaching with Excellence Award in 2015, and is also a recipient of the Granite Education Foundation Excel Outstanding Teaching Award in 2004 while teaching at Bonneville Jr. High School. Dr. Jacklin likes to do many things such as read, hike, participate and watch sports of all kinds, learn new and interesting things about people and our country, as well as help people find ways to succeed. Dr. Jacklin has been awarded nine Nation Endowment for the Humanity Awards to study American history around the country, as well as being chosen to receive a Driven to Teach Award given by the Larry & Gail Miller endowment. She believes that no matter what mistake you have made there is always a way to overcome. Wanting students to achieve their best is Dr. Jacklin's goal for her students. Dr. Jacklin focuses on student achievement through activity-based learning in her classroom and knows that students will retain information longer and with greater detail if they can actually experiment with an activity. Students need to be proactive in their academic achievement and when they do; they will open the door to their own future. Dr. Jacklin holds a Doctorate in Education with a focus in teacher leadership and technology.

I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from BYU. I have also taken post-graduate classes at the University of Utah, Friends University, University of Colorado, and Southern Utah University. I am certified to teach Speech, Drama, Debate, and History. I have supervised extra-curricular activities such as student government, “We the People… “, Academic Games, drama competitions, school dances, several play productions a year and, yes, have even had experience as an elementary P.E. teacher and assistant middle school football coach. I enjoy reading, traveling, and going to the theatre.
