How do I enroll?
Students will need to work with their boundary school counselor to review their Career and College Readiness Plan and determine if Connection High offerings are the right option.
Can I stay at my home high school and also take classes from Connection High?
Yes.
Can I take classes from Connection High if I am a high school student in another school district?
Not at the present time. Connection High has been set up to serve only students of Granite School District.
Are Connection High courses for original credit or credit recovery?
They are for original credit.
Can I still earn a diploma from my boundary high school if I have earned credits from both the boundary high school and Connection High?
Yes. If you are enrolled in your boundary school.
What is the class size in Connection High School courses?
Face to face classes average about 20 students per class. Online courses sizes vary greatly, anywhere from 10 to over 100 students.
Are 9th and 10th graders accepted to Connection High School?
9th and 10th grade students may enroll in online Connection High courses but not in face to face classes. 9th and 10th grade students will need to work with their boundary school counselor to review their Career and College Readiness Plan and determine if Connection High offerings are the right option.
What will the “face to face” daily schedule look like?
This is almost identical to all Granite School District high schools. The daily schedule will be an A/B block schedule. Terms and days in session mirror all GSD high schools.
How many credits are needed for a Connection High diploma?

How many credits can I earn at Connection High School in a given term/semester/year?
This is determined based on which mode(s) students are taking classes at Connection. Each student will need to work closely with his/her counselor to determine if a course schedule larger than the typical course schedule is the right option based on the students CCR plans.
What if I don’t have enough credit to graduate by the end of my senior year?
Students may continue to participate in classes under the Granite Peaks Adult Education Program.
If I am taking face to face classes at Connection High, can I leave Connection High and return to my boundary GSD school?
Yes. This would be coordinated through your Connection High Counselor.

Is there a “real teacher” behind Connection High online courses?
Yes. Every online course offering will have a highly qualified and certified Granite School District teacher.
How many additional credits can I earn each school year by taking online courses in addition to my boundary school course load?

Do the online courses require I take a final?
A final proctored test will be issued at the end of each term for each course. Final testing will be held at Connection High brick and mortar.
How do online course students communicate with their teacher?
All of the communication you do in your course will be done through the Canvas learning management system.
Can I finish my online course at any time?
This depends on which type of online course you and your counselor determine is best for you according to your CCR plan. Standard online courses will be taught by term. Open entry/open exit online courses will have a one year (or end of the senior year if applicable) time for completion.
