Our purpose is to address the academic needs of students at the local level by evaluating and providing opportunities and programs for their benefit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHAT IS A SCHOOL COMMUNITY COUNCIL? HOW CAN I SERVE?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>School Community Councils are elected parent\/guardian and employee representatives who work together with the principal to increase student achievement. By law the Council is responsible to review school data and develop plans for school improvement. Councils also allocate the LAND Trust funds to assist the school in reaching achievement goals. Please see the Granite School District web page for more information regarding the roles and responsibilities of Community Councils (www.graniteschools.org).<\/p>\n<p>Parents elect parent representatives and employees elect employees for two-year terms. To be eligible, a parent must have a student enrolled in the school for at least one of the years and may not be employed by the school for more than an average of six hours per week per month. Elections are held August 29-31 via an online election established through Granite School District.<\/p>\n<p>We invite you to become involved in your school\u2019s Community Council by declaring your candidacy. Expenditures.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Advising and making recommendations to school and school district administrators and the local school board regarding:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>the school and its programs<\/li>\r\n \t<li>school district programs<\/li>\r\n \t<li>a child access routing plan<\/li>\r\n \t<li>safe technology utilization and digital citizenship<\/li>\r\n \t<li>other issues relating to the community environment for students<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Partnering with the school\u2019s principal and other administrators to ensure that adequate on and off campus Internet filtering is installed and consistently configured to prevent viewing of harmful content by students and school personnel.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>In accordance with state board rule regarding school community council expenditures and funding limits: working with students, families, and educators to develop and incorporate safety principles at the school, and holding at least an annual discussion with the school\u2019s principal and district administrators regarding safety principles.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Providing input to the school\u2019s principal on a positive behaviors plan.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\n          <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n        <div class=\"gsdscc-rules-accordion border border-1 secondary-color-border mb-2\">\n          <h3 id=\"rules-member-expectations\" as the primary focus.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Listen to and value diverse opinions.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Ensure that the perspectives of those the council represents are considered in discussions.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Be accountable for their actions and expect accountability from others.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Act with integrity.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\n          <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n        <div
