The FREE Application for Federal Student Aid is open. Come get help completing the FAFSA on January 16th from 4:00-7:00pm in the CHS Library. This is an Open House format – please come by 6:00 to complete the application before we close.
THE FIRST 100 students that attend (and a parent) will receive a TACO DINNER PLATE from Salsa’s Catering.
We will have financial office professionals from SLCC and other programs to help, as well as translators and scholarship information.
Undocumented and DACA welcome to attend for financial advising and scholarship opportunities for those who are not eligible for the FAFSA due to citizenship requirements.
Bring your Chromebook, Parent/guardian, and 2023 Tax Forms (students and parents), and complete your FSA PIN 3 days before the event. See studentaid.gov for more information.
What to bring:
To fill out a FAFSA application, you will need to bring your Social Security number, driver’s license (if applicable), most recent federal income tax returns for both you and your parents (if dependent), W-2 forms, records of any child support received, current bank statements, and information regarding any investments or assets you or your parents may have.
Key documents to have on hand:
- Personal Information:
- Social Security number

- Date of birth
- Contact information
- Financial Information (for both student and parents if dependent):
- Federal income tax returns
- W-2 forms
- 1099 forms (if applicable)
- Records of child support received
- Current bank statements
- Information about investments and assets (stocks, bonds, real estate, etc.)
Important Points
- FSA ID:You will need to create an FSA ID (username and password) to access the FAFSA application online.
- Dependent status:If you are considered a dependent student, you will need to provide information about your parents’ income as well.
- Verification process:Be prepared to provide additional documentation to verify your information if selected for review by the financial aid office.
