If you have earned certain academic achievements, you may qualify to wear a special cord at graduation. Here&#8217;s what&#8217;s available and how to apply:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Honors Cord\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What it is: A gold cord worn over your graduation gown.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Who qualifies: Students who have earned a 3.70 GPA or higher. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How to get it: Your Honors Cord will be automatically added to your graduation bag (with your cap and gown) if you qualify.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Diploma of Merit Cord\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What it is: A white cord worn over your graduation gown.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Who qualifies: Students who turn in a completed Diploma of Merit application (located in the Senior Awards Packet).\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>See our <a href=\"https:\/\/schools.graniteschools.org\/cottonwoodhigh\/draft-counseling-center\/all-things-graduation\/award-for-excellence\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"11284\">Diplomas page<\/a> for more information about qualifications. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How to get it: Your cord will be automatically added to your graduation bag (with your cap and gown) if you qualify.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>-Department\/Subject-Specific Cords<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What they are: Cords awarded by individual academic departments to recognize excellence in a specific subject area.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How to apply: Contact the lead teacher of the department for the subject you&#8217;re interested in.
