On Monday, January 25th, funeral services are being held for Officer Doug Barney at the Maverick Center with a funeral processional that will pass through Holladay City. The route of the processional will go from the Maverick Center and up I-80 exiting on to 2300 East and transitioning on to Holladay Blvd. until reaching I-215 (6200 S.). The Unified Police Department expects the processional to pass Olympus High School between 1:30 – 3:00 PM. During the procession, traffic will be shut down along 2300 East.
We will be walking our students up and standing in front of the church across from Olympus High school during this processional (if time allows). Please be sure to dress your child(ren) in warm clothing and good walking shoes. We will be in contact with Olympus High and Unified Police to get a more specific time on when the processional will be in our area that day. This is a wonderful way that we can show our support to our local police, Officer Barney’s family, and our community.
