Cyprus will have two full-time instructional coaches to work with teachers to improve Tier 1 instruction. Half of each of their salaries will be paid for with Land Trust money ($100,000). 2. We will pay for one full-time counselor to reduce the counselor to student ratio so counselors can be more aware of and proactive in working with their students and their progress toward graduation ($100,000). 3. Cyprus will pay for one full-time Testing Coordinator who will take on duties normally assigned to counselors and administrators. This will leave the counselors and administrators more time to work with individual students on graduation requirements (course selection and credit recovery as needed). The Coordinator prints ASPIRE Data sheets for students and their core and Advisory teachers and parents to review the data and set growth goals. In addition, they organize the ACT, Panorama Survey, WIDA, PSAT, Reading Growth Measure, and ASPIRE+ testing by assigning roles, arranging the physical spaces, proctoring, training, and scheduling testing. They work with students one-on-one to look at data and make goals. They also create graphic organizers for teachers, students, and parents to find assessment reports for students. ($60,000). 4. Money will be set aside to pay for stipends for teacher teams to work in their PLC groups over the summer and/or outside contract time throughout the school year so they can plan curriculum ($40,000). 5. Edgenuity software licenses will be purchased. This is the program the school uses for credit recovery so students can get themselves back on track for graduation ($28,000). 6. The school will utilize attendance trackers to help get kids to class and to work with students who are having attendance issues to get them back in school and on track so they can stay on line to graduate ($70,000). 7. Cyprus will pay for teachers on an hourly timecard for summer credit recovery. Paying for staff from Land Trust allows the school to charge less for credit recovery, which allows more students to utilize it to get back on track for graduation ($20,000). 8. ELA classes are constantly updating curriculum which means they're often in need of classroom sets of new novels, so Land Trust money will help with that. The library is also constantly updating its books to make sure we have appropriate and current offerings for students ($10,000). 9. The school foresees the need to cover a few extra classes that will allow us to lower class sizes in specific periods as we look to balance our schedule. Lowering class sizes helps improve Tier 1 instruction and allows teachers in all content areas to focus on academic skills that will help students in the required core content areas. This budget will also include the costs for substitute teachers that will be needed when teachers are absent due to illness, personal leave, professional development, and other things that may cause them to miss class and need a substitute ($80,000). 10. Cyprus is sending a team to an AVID conference this summer as we move to all 9th graders taking AVID. This will give all students a strong basis in student behaviors so they can be successful in high school ($35,000).

2025-2026

School Plan / Final Report

Funds received: $438,696.13

Funds used for: 1. This position will free up time for both counselors and administrators and allow them to focus on working directly with students. 4. Provide stipends for teacher PLC teams to meet during the summer and outside of contract time to plan and evaluate curriculum and instruction to improve both Tier 1 instruction and student interventions. 5. Purchase Edgenuity software to run the school\\'s credit recovery program, so students have access to recovering deficient credits and graduate. 6. Academic Mentors will work with students who have attendance issues to track their academic progress and attendance improvement. The mentors will work with the school\\'s most egregious non-attenders to help get them back on track in school so they can graduate. 7. Provide money for English class sets of novels (selected from the district\\'s approved novels list) and the school library to purchase books in support of the school\\'s literacy efforts. 8. A motion must be stated clearly.

Second: Another council member must indicate their support for the motion to allow it to be discussed and voted upon.

Discussion: Once a motion is seconded, council members can offer their input and opinions when recognized by the chair.

Voting: After discussion, the chair will call for a vote on the motion. The outcome depends on the type of motion and the required majority.

Calling the previous question: A member can make a motion to end the discussion on the current motion by saying, “I move the previous question.” This requires a second and a two-thirds vote to pass. If it passes, the council immediately votes on the original motion without further discussion. If it fails, the council continues discussing the original motion.

Tie vote: A vote that results in an equal number of votes for and against the motion is considered a lost vote.

Main motion: The primary type of motion used to introduce new business or ideas. Main motions can be debated and amended.

Amend a motion: A motion to change the wording or details of the main motion. Amendments require a second, are debatable, and require a majority vote.

Point of order: A member raises a point of order if they believe a procedural error has occurred during the meeting. The chair will rule on whether the point is valid.

Reconsider: A motion to bring back a previously decided motion for further discussion and another vote. This motion can only be made by a member who voted on the winning side of the original motion, and requires a second and a majority vote.

Withdrawal of motion: The person who originally made a motion can ask to withdraw it before a vote is taken. This does not require a second or debate and is usually granted by the chair.

Close nominations: A motion to end the process of nominating candidates for an office. It requires a second and a two-thirds vote.

        School Community Council Handbook

School Community Council Handbook (English)

School Community Council Handbook (Spanish)

Teacher and Student Success Plan / Continual Improvement Plan

Teacher and Student Success Plan / Continual Improvement Plan

        Council Elections

Elections are not in progress at this time.

We encourage parents to serve on the Cyprus community council.

        Meeting Archives

We only keep minutes for the current school year and the previous 3 school years.
