Graduation Requirements <\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Language Arts – 4.0 Credits<\/summary>\n

Students must take an English class every year of high school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

9th – English 9<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10th – English 10<\/p>\n\n\n\n

11th – English 11, AP Language and Composition, or AP English Literature<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12th – English 12, English 1010\/English 2010, AP Language and Composition, AP English Literature, or an alternative 12th grade English credit<\/a><\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Math – 3.0 Credits <\/summary>\n

Students must take at least three years of math. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

9th – Secondary Math 1<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10th – Secondary Math 2<\/p>\n\n\n\n

11th – Secondary Math 3<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Science – 3.0 Credits<\/summary>\n

Students must take at least three years of science. Two years must be a foundational science class, the final year can be a non-foundational science class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Foundation Science Credit – Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Computer Science<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Non-Foundational Science Credits – Botany, Astronomy, Wildlife Biology, or Zoology<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Social Studies – 3.5 Credits<\/summary>\n

Students must take a social studies class every year of high school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

9th – World Geography or AP Human Geography<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10th – World History, AP World History, or AP European History<\/p>\n\n\n\n

11th- US History or AP US History<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12- US Government or AP US Government<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

CTE – 1.0 Credit<\/summary>\n

Students must take at least one full year of CTE classes (can be non-consecutive). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Digital Studies 0.5 Credits<\/summary>\n

It is recommended that students take this in 9th grade. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Options for a digital studies credit includes: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Business Office Specialist, Computer Programming, Computer Science Principals, Digital Business Applications, or Exploring Computer Science<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Fine Arts – 1.5 Credits<\/summary>\n

Students must take at least one and a half years of fine arts (can be non-consecutive). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are two categories for fine arts; visual arts and performing arts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Financial Literacy – 0.5 Credits<\/summary>\n

It is recommended that students take this in 11th grade. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are only two options for financial literacy credits; the standard financial literacy class and the CE financial literacy class (Fin 1050). <\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Health – 0.5 Credits<\/summary>\n

It is recommended that students take this in 10th grade. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are only two options for health credits; the standard health class and Intro to Health Sciences, which is a CE class. <\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

Physical Education – 1.5 Credits<\/summary>\n

Students must take at least one and a half years of PE. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the credits students must<\/strong> take is Fitness for Life<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Electives – 8.0 Credits<\/summary>\n

Students must take a total of 8 credits of electives<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Citizenship and Total Credits<\/summary>\n

Seniors must have a 3.0 CPA (citizenship point average) to walk at graduation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.      Cyprus High School.  Monday – Thursday 6:30 – 7:00 am AND 2:15 p.m. \u2013 3:30 p.m.  See your counselor for referral, cost and information.  (NOT<\/em><\/strong> NCAA approved)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
