Eisenhower Parents and Students,
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! We are excited to have you back at Eisenhower and can’t wait to see you on August 24th.
We are doing things a little differently this year as we deal with Covid-19. You can have your student attend school, or you can opt for distance learning which would be online at home. If you would prefer to have your child do distance learning, please fill out the distance learning form on the school website. (link: https://schools.graniteschools.org/eisenhowerjr/2020/07/28/distance-learning-option/)
Please email the completed distance learning form to mellermeier@graniteschools.org by August 7th.
Our 7th grade/new student orientation will be done virtually this year. We will upload the video to the school website August 20th.
We are doing everything possible to keep everyone safe as we prepare the start of the school year. Students and faculty will be required to wear face masks. We will have hand sanitizer in every classroom and throughout the building. For your child’s safety, lockers will not be used and all students will receive a drawstring backpack, water bottle, gator and face mask(s). Gym lockers will not be used, so students will not be required to dress out for PE. Please refer to our school opening plan on the school website for full details. Registration opens in the parent portal on August 1st. We will upload a video with details on the school website on how to use the parent portal. All students will be charged a basic fee. The fee waiver application will be available online and you can upload your documents and turn it in through the portal. (link: portal.graniteschools.org)
We are excited to announce the following staff coming to Eisenhower: Elizabeth Gregory and Emily Mackay are our new math teachers. Chris Lee is our new special education teacher. Jennifer Ritter is our new English teacher. Rebecca Ibarra and Ofa Nau are our new assistant principals and Andrea Palmer is our new counselor.
We have an amazing staff that put students first. We want all of our students to feel welcome and comfortable at Eisenhower Junior High. My door is always open so if you have any concerns or questions please don’t hesitate to ask. I am lucky to be the principal of such a wonderful school filled with excellent students. I appreciate all that you do for your children, and we want to work with you in helping them reach their potential.
Sincerely,
Mark Ellermeier
Principal, Eisenhower Junior High
