The last day of school has come and we are celebrating with heavy hearts. We enjoyed seeing the families that stopped by to turn in Chromebooks and pick up bags from their teachers. It was not the ending to the school year we planned for, however we worked around challenges and changes to education and had a successful ending. Our teachers, students, and parents worked through the challenge of distance learning with some growing pains along the way. The Farnsworth community are ROCKSTARS!

Passing of the Keys:
- Principal Joan Bramble: Farewell Farnsworth! It is with mixed emotions that I am leaving Farnsworth after 7 great years. I have absolutely loved being able to be your principal during this time and am grateful for all I have learned from you. There has been nothing better than being with Farnsworth kids everyday and helping them grow and learn with our amazing faculty and staff supporting them as they accomplished amazing things. This has been the best place to be!! The Farnsworth community is fantastic and I truly cherish the relationships I have had with each of you and will miss you. You will always hold a place in my heart! I am moving on to a job in the district office and am excited for new challenges ahead. I am also excited to see the great things that Farnsworth Tigers will continue to do and I wish all of you the best with Marianne Johansen as your new principal.
- New Principal Marianne Johansen: Hello Farnsworth! I am so excited to be your principal next year; I grew up in West Valley and I feel like I’m coming home. I graduated from Cyprus High School (Go Pirates!) and attended Utah State University (Go Aggies!). Next year will be my thirteenth year working in Granite. I taught P.E. and 6th grade at Stansbury Elementary and 5th grade at Woodrow Wilson Elementary. I also taught fine arts for four years and had the opportunity to teach at several schools. I have spent the last three years as an administrator at Eisenhower Junior High. I loved my time in junior high, but I’m also really looking forward to returning to elementary school. My husband and I love the beach, surfing, and anything to do with water. I enjoy music, especially playing the piano, and spending time with my nieces and nephews (I work really hard at being the favorite aunt). My favorite thing about being an educator is, of course, the kids! I love building relationships with students, parents, and teachers and working together to help children be successful. I can’t wait to join the Farnsworth family and I am looking forward to meeting all of you!
- Assistant Principal Alana Farber: Farnsworth Families, I am sad to have to say goodbye to you all. I have loved working with all the students, teachers, staff, and parents during this last school year. Everyone holds a special place in my heart. I will treasure the days I spent here at Farnsworth and will remember all that I have learned while here. I wish everyone of you all the best. When I lock the door for the last time and pass the key along to Andrew Morgan I know you will all be in good hands.
- New Assistant Principal Andrew Morgan: Hello! I am very excited to be working at Farnsworth Elementary next year. Students are why I do what I do and I am excited to interact and get to know the awesome students at Farnsworth. Before my time here, I worked as teacher in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade. I also have spent one year as an instructional coach an assistant principal. My wife and I have a 5-year-old daughter and a dog named “Marvin. This September we are expecting our second child. I love to spend time with my family, work in my yard and play/watch sports. I am looking forward to a great year and I’m excited to get to know everyone within the Farnsworth Community. I hope all of you have a great summer. Stay Safe!
