Candidacy and election procedures begin before each school year.<\/p>\n<p><b>Invitation to serve on the council:<\/b> We warmly invite parents to serve on our school's community council. directly influence the way LAND Trust funds are used during the school year, which can include programs, materials, and other education-based solutions.<\/p>\n\n      <p Paraeducators will also work closely with the reading coach to provide interventions as necessary 3. Library books will be purchased to support our school wide reading goal. Some of the books will also provide opportunities for students to participate in the Battle of the Books competition. responsibilities of the council include:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Creating all components of the School LAND Trust Plan, to include the Goal Statement, Academic Area, Measurement, Action Plan Steps, and Expenditures.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Advising and making recommendations to school and school district administrators and the local school board regarding:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>the school and its programs<\/li>\r\n \t<li>school district programs<\/li>\r\n \t<li>a child access routing plan<\/li>\r\n \t<li>safe technology utilization and digital citizenship<\/li>\r\n \t<li>other issues relating to the community environment for students<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Partnering with the school\u2019s principal and other administrators to ensure that adequate on and off campus Internet filtering is installed and consistently configured to prevent viewing of harmful content by students and school personnel.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>In accordance with state board rule regarding school community council expenditures and funding limits: working with students, families, and educators to develop and incorporate safety principles at the school, and holding at least an annual discussion with the school\u2019s principal and district administrators regarding safety principles.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Providing input to the school\u2019s principal on a positive behaviors plan.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\n          <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n        <div class=\"gsdscc-rules-accordion border border-1 secondary-color-border mb-2\">\n          <h3 id=\"rules-member-expectations\" class=\"gsdscc-rules-accordion-header h5 mb-0\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"gsdscc-rules-accordion-toggle collapsed secondary-color-bg secondary-color-bg-dark-hover text-white p-1\" as the primary focus.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Listen to and value diverse opinions.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Ensure that the perspectives of those the council represents are considered in discussions.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Be accountable for their actions and expect accountability from others.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Act with integrity.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\n          <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n        <div class=\"gsdscc-rules-accordion border border-1 secondary-color-border mb-2\">\n          <h3 id=\"rules-training\" class=\"gsdscc-rules-accordion-header h5 mb-0\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"gsdscc-rules-accordion-toggle collapsed secondary-color-bg secondary-color-bg-dark-hover text-white p-1\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#gsdscc-rules-training\" class=\"gsdscc-rules-accordion-body collapse p-3\">\n            Council members will receive annual training to understand their responsibilities. Training is the responsibility of the local school board. Council members receive training before preparing and taking action on School LAND Trust plans and reports.\n          <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n        <div class=\"gsdscc-rules-accordion border border-1 secondary-color-border mb-2\">\n          <h3 id=\"rules-open-meetings\" class=\"gsdscc-rules-accordion-header h5 mb-0\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"gsdscc-rules-accordion-toggle collapsed secondary-color-bg secondary-color-bg-dark-hover text-white p-1\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#gsdscc-rules-open-meetings\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"gsdscc-rules-open-meetings\">\n              Open Meetings\n            <\/button>\n          <\/h3>\n          <div id=\"gsdscc-rules-open-meetings\" class=\"gsdscc-rules-accordion-body collapse p-3\">\n            All meetings are open to the public, and the public is welcome to attend.\n          <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n        <div class=\"gsdscc-rules-accordion border border-1 secondary-color-border mb-2\">\n          <h3 id=\"rules-agendas-minutes\" class=\"gsdscc-rules-accordion-header h5 mb-0\">\n            <button type=\"button\" class=\"gsdscc-rules-accordion-toggle collapsed secondary-color-bg secondary-color-bg-dark-hover text-white p-1\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#gsdscc-rules-agendas-minutes\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"gsdscc-rules-agendas-minutes\">\n              Meeting Agendas and Minutes\n            <\/button>\n          <\/h3>\n          <div id=\"gsdscc-rules-agendas-minutes\" class=\"gsdscc-rules-accordion-body collapse p-3\">\n            <ul>\r\n \t<li>The agenda for each upcoming meeting, along with draft minutes from the previous meeting, will be provided to all council members at least one week in advance.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>The agenda will be posted on the school website and will include the date, time, and location of the meeting, as well as any proposed action items.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Written minutes will be taken at all meetings. This timeline will include due dates for all required reports and other activities or tasks that the council agrees to undertake or participate in.
