Congratulations to Natalia Acevedo- Dominguez in Girls Tennis for being voted the Athlete of the week during September 2-6. Senior, Natalia Acevedo-Dominguez is currently undefeated not letting her opponent’s even breathe as she has only given up a total of 11 out of 95 games, even winning against Taylorsville in straight sets! She is on track to be Region II 1st seed for the second year in a row topping her last year 13 wins 1 loss record by defeating Hunter this year helping Granger sweep them with a 5-0 win for both Varsity and JV. The very next day our smallest powerhouse girl went on to not dropping a single game winning against Cyprus 6-0, 6-0 in less than 48 minutes a new record that she has earned by practicing really hard and learning from her teammates!!! When at home, we sometimes get a chance to cheer on our girls soccer team and just like at every football game and SBO activities its Natalia who is the first to show her school spirit and sportsmanship by leading our cheers for our fellow lancers!
Each week the athletics department will be awarding one student athlete with the recognition of “Athlete of the Week”. Each nominee is submitted by their head coach for their accomplishments on the field or court of play for the week and voted upon by all the head coaches.
