The scholarships\/awards are sponsored by the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) with funds provided by participating higher education institutions. The award amount varies by institutions.&nbsp; High School seniors may apply. Listed below are links to some of the military branches, as well as contact information for local recruiters. If you would like to explore the different military options, you can&nbsp; go to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.todaysmilitary.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Today\u2019s Military<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You may also consider reaching out to local military recruiters\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/13jVZF3gsX6FjrgvQmHXUPCah9dLAMH2HmFUBJfkg06s\/edit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Local Military Representatives Resource List (Google Document)<\/a>\u00a0or check with the Granger High Career Center to find out when recruiters may be visiting the school.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Junior ROTC<\/strong> programs are available for 9-12 graders. Granger High School offers an Air Force JROTC program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The military offers one, two, and four year scholarships. These scholarships pay for tuition, books and fees at the student\u2019s chosen college or university where there is an ROTC program. Applicants are selected based on grades, SAT or ACT scores, and extracurricular activities.&nbsp; They also give the recipients cash for living expenses. To learn more go to:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/universityhq.org\/resources\/college-planning-guide\/rotc-programs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">What are ROTC Programs and How Do they Work?<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students interested in attending a military academies must complete a fairly complex appointment process beginning in their junior year. Candidates are nominated to these programs and the sooner you begin, the better your chances of receiving full consideration. The first step is&nbsp; to complete a preliminary application found on each academy\u2019s web page.&nbsp; It is also recommended that you contact an Admissions Liaison Officer early on in the application process.
