Credit recovery is for students who have failed or are missing required credits and need an opportunity to make them up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Credit recovery is especially important for seniors, but students in all grade levels should check their credits regularly and work with their counselor if they are behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do I know if I need credit recovery?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students may need credit recovery if they:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-nowrap is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Failed a required class<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are missing credit toward graduation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are behind in one or more graduation requirements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have been told by their counselor or teacher that they need to recover credit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>See missing credits in the <strong>GRAD tab<\/strong> in Focus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students and families can check graduation progress by logging into Focus and reviewing the <strong>GRAD tab<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Talk to Your Counselor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students should meet with their school counselor to review what credits are missing and decide the best credit recovery option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your counselor can help answer questions like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What class or credit do I need to recover?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is this credit required for graduation?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can I recover the credit through summer credit recovery?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do I need Granite Online?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What is my deadline?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How does this affect graduation eligibility?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Credit Recovery Expectations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Credit recovery is an opportunity to earn back missing credit, but students are still expected to complete the required work and show understanding of the material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students may be required to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div assignments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pass assessments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Retake failed tests, when allowed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meet minimum proficiency requirements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attend level before credit can be awarded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Seniors and Graduation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Seniors who are missing credits should take action right away. Missing credit can affect graduation and participation in graduation activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Seniors should:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Check the GRAD tab in Focus<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meet with their counselor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete required coursework by the deadline<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Follow up with Mr. Ehounou or school administration if additional credit recovery support is needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students who wait until the last minute may not have enough time to complete all requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Families Can Do<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Families can support students by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Checking Focus regularly<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reviewing the GRAD tab with their student<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Asking which credits still need to be completed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Helping students stay organized with deadlines<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encouraging students to attend and complete all required work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contacting the school early if they have questions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The earlier students and families ask for help, the more options we may have available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Need Help?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students should contact their <strong>counselor <\/strong>if they are unsure what credits they need or how to get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At Granger High School, we want every student to stay on track for graduation.
