Paying for college<\/strong> or technical school <\/strong>can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to figure it out alone. The Granger High School Counseling Center is here to help students and families complete the FAFSA, understand financial aid options, and take the next step toward college, technical training, or career preparation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FAFSA, or Free Application for Federal Student Aid, helps students apply for money for college, technical college, and career training programs. Students may qualify for grants, work-study, scholarships, and student loans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students planning to attend college or technical school during the 2026\u20132027 school year<\/strong> should complete the 2027-2028 FAFSA<\/strong>. The FAFSA is completed online at FAFSA.gov<\/a><\/strong> and is always free. The 2027-2028 FAFSA is for students attending school between July 1, 2027 and June 30, 2028<\/strong>. Who Is a Contributor?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A contributor<\/strong> is someone required to provide information on a student\u2019s FAFSA. This may include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contributors must log in with their own StudentAid.gov account and complete their section of the FAFSA. Federal Student Aid notes that parent contributors without a Social Security number can still create a StudentAid.gov account and complete their portion online.
