Dear Granite Park families,
Welcome to another week! Please read this post for important information and upcoming events.
TARDIES: Thank you for getting your students here to school this morning in spite of the weather. There were no tardies marked the morning of March 29, 2019.
REPORT CARDS: Third quarter report cards will be sent home with your students on Monday, April 1, 2019.
DIGITAL SAFETY: The Cottonwood Network (all elementary schools, junior high schools, and Cottonwood High School) are sponsoring a parent digital safety information night on Thursday, April 4, 6:30 pm, at OAKWOOD ELEMENTARY. This is a great opportunity for all parents to learn more about keeping students safe in this digital age. Please see the attached postcard.
SNOW DAY: This year was unusual! For the first time in over a decade, a snow day was used. A postcard was sent home last week from Granite School District explaining that the last day of school for students will be Thursday, May 23. There will be no school for students on Friday, May 24.
90TH CELEBRATION: The time is fast approaching for our 90-year celebration (flyer also attached). All families are invited to attend an assembly on April 16th from 10:00-11:00 to celebrate our 90 years as a school. Then on the evening of the 17th, we will have a carnival with the following activities: food trucks, live music, rock climbing wall, bounce house, giant Twister, Science activities, musical performances, face painting, historical displays, the SWAT truck, a K-9 unit, arts and crafts, a dunk tank, a fire truck, board games, and several outdoor activities. Please come with your student to celebrate being part of our wonderful community and Granite Park family!
TUESDAY EVENING: This Tuesday evening, April 2nd, from 5:00-7:00 we will have a parent night. While students have activities in the gym, parents will learn about the various facets of our after school program, following by fun family activities. The evening will end with dinner provided. We hope to see you there!
RISE TESTING: Our year-end testing is right about the corner! We are preparing students to do their best on their Language Arts, Math, and Science tests. Language Arts is the first to test, starting on Monday April 15th.
Thanks,
