Pantry (AM Only)
- Assembling and maintaining the salad bar
- Learning how to use knives, from a paring knife to large chef knives
- Using a blend tech for making dressings
- Using a can opener, food processor, hot plate, fondue pot, microwave, and a Kitchen Aid mixer
- Making salads and fruit, meat and veggie trays
- Using garnishing tools and fruit cutters
- Producing confections for the gift shop
- Learning to clean and sanitize surfaces
- Reading recipes and proportioning practices
- Learning appropriate workplace and social skills
Café (PM Only)
- Taking orders for customers
- Running a cash register
- Counting money to balance a cash drawer
- Setting up and busing tables
- Maintaining and serving from a steam table for hot specials
- Making specialty sandwiches (some sandwiches require a knife to cut them)
- Practicing good customer service skills
- Taking down the salad bar
- Cleaning, sanitizing, and emptying garbage
- Learning appropriate workplace and social skills
