Students will have the opportunity to learn the following cooking skills:
- Practicing industry-based real world sanitation
- Learning basic cooking methods and techniques
- Measuring, following recipes
- Working in our in-house kitchen
- Preparing food for the cafe
- Producing frozen foods for retail
- Experiencing various food services assignments such as: dishwasher, utility worker, prep cook, grill cook, short order cook, soup cook, cooks assistant, and food assembly worker
- Practicing the proper use of knives and other various cooking utensils, a dishwasher, char broiler grill, flat top grill, fryer, steamer, and microwave
- Learning appropriate workplace and social skills
