Dear Parents and Students,
Its April and at Post High that means talking about recreation and leisure activities. We will talk about the way we spend our time and the things we choose or can choose to do with our free time. We always encourage students to plan outings that they have not done before and to explore new activities that they have always wanted to try.
Each year after we have finished two months of working on interview skills, Post High celebrates what students have learned with an interview dress up day. Our interview dress up day for this year will be Friday April 12th. As part of the dress up day we have a post high fashion show where students can show off their interview attire and dance down the catwalk to some hip music. We will also conduct some mock interviews with the students throughout the day. Students do not have to dress up to participate but we like it when everyone shows up in their interview best.
Please pay attention to the important dates and upcoming events below. Calendars have been updated and can be found in the links below. If you did not receive a copy of the calendar and want one, please let me know.
If you missed Parent Teacher Conference then please take a look at the information below regarding some important information to provide some financial security for your child’s future and consider a Special Needs Trust for your child. If you do not have a special needs trust or do not know what that is then I would highly recommend looking into it. If a special needs trust is not for you there is another option called an ABLE Account that might be of interest to you. Granite will be hosting an Agency Fair at Granger High on Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Please be sure to attend to learn about services that you may be eligible for now and after your student graduates. Its a great way to make connections to agencies for your future needs.
Remember that we are constantly emphasizing R.O.C.K.S. at Post High. Any help you can give at home to emphasize R.O.C.K.S. is appreciated. Remember that R.O.C.K.S. is an acronym for our school expectations. It stands for Responsible, Optimistic, Confident, Kind, and Self-Reliant. Using these words at home with your child will help reinforce our use of those expectations here at school.
Please see the “Upcoming Events” below and as always, if you have any questions call or email me. Please give me 24 hours to respond. You can also check out the Post High Facebook page to keep up to date on some fun and important things.
