{"id":73014,"date":"2020-07-28T09:25:00","date_gmt":"2020-07-28T15:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/schools.graniteschools.org\/hunterhigh\/?page_id=73014"},"modified":"2026-07-15T10:58:58","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T16:58:58","slug":"prospective-students","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/schools.graniteschools.org\/hunterhigh\/prospective-students\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Enroll a Student in Hunter High School if They Have Never Been in Granite School District"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are glad to welcome you to Hunter High School and look forward in supporting you as you become college and career ready!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To enroll at Hunter High School, please complete the following tasks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Visit the Granite School District <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.graniteschools.org\/schoolsearch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">School Search Website<\/a> to determine if you live in our school&#8217;s boundaries.  You will input the address listed on the city utility, rental agreement, and\/or mortgage.  The document must include the parent\/legal guardians name enrolling the student.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you <strong>do reside<\/strong> in our school&#8217;s boundaries, then you can skip Step 3 and move to the next section, <em>What You Need to Enroll a Student at Hunter High School.  <\/em>  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you <strong>do not reside<\/strong> in Hunter High School boundaries,  you will need to complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.graniteschools.org\/psp\/open-enrollment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">online Special Permit form (also called Open Enrollment form)<\/a>. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What You Need to Enroll a New Student at Hunter High School<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">All Students Need to Do the Following: <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Download and complete <strong><em>Hunter High School<\/em><\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1C2ioVLHQuulpuxeG4oMp72jniA5bnEN_\/view?usp=sharing\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1C2ioVLHQuulpuxeG4oMp72jniA5bnEN_\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Enrollment Form (PDF)<\/a> <strong><em>(save a copy for your records <\/em><\/strong>of the completed document)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Address Verification &#8211; to verify address, please email <a href=\"mailto:hunterhsreg@graniteschools.org\">our registrar<\/a> a copy of your <em><strong>current City Utility Bill or Rental Agreement<\/strong><\/em> in the parent\/guardian\u2019s name\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>What if I do not have a utility bill or a rental agreement?<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Please download, complete and email <a href=\"mailto:ajpennington@graniteschools.org\">Amanda Pennington<\/a> a <em><a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/schools.graniteschools.org\/hunterhigh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/105\/2020\/08\/affirmation-of-residence_Fillable-English.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">District Approved Affirmation of Residence (PDF)<\/a><\/em> or <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/schools.graniteschools.org\/hunterhigh\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/105\/2020\/08\/affirmation-of-residence_Fillable-Spanish.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span lang=\"es\">Afirmacion de residencia<\/span> (PDF)<\/a> (This form will need to be completed, signed, and notarized; the Granite School District Offices or a local bank can notarize this letter for you).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student\u2019s IEP (Special Education Services) if applicable<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student&#8217;s 504 Plan if applicable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Please Include the Following Additional Information If Your Student is <em>Not<\/em> Currently Attending a Granite School District School:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Birth Certificate <strong><em>or<\/em><\/strong> Proof of Guardianship with District Required Form\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Need a copy of your birth certificate???\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/vitalrecords.health.utah.gov\/records\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Birth Certificate Application<\/a><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.graniteschools.org\/psp\/guardianship\/\" target=\"_blank\">Need District Approved Temporary Guardianship papers<\/a>?\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Visit the District Prevention &amp; Student Placement Office (2500 S State) to complete and notarize the form<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unofficial High School Transcripts from each school attended (Grades 9 \u2013 12)  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.graniteschools.org\/schools\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Check to see if your current school is in Granite School District <\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student Immunization Record<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If student enrolls <strong><em>following the first week of the school year<\/em><\/strong>, then they will need to provide the checkout form from their most recent school attended. We are unable to enroll a student without this checkout\/withdrawal form from the school where  you are currently enrolled.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Email <em>Completed Enrollment Form<\/em> (please verify the <em>Enrollment Form<\/em> contains correct information before sending), <em>District Enrollment Sheet,<\/em> and <em>additional documents (as indicated above)<\/em> to  <\/strong><a href=\"mailto:hunterhsreg@graniteschools.org\">Amanda Pennington<\/a><strong> (School Registrar)<\/strong> at hunterhsreg@graniteschools.org.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once our registrar receives your email (please verify you have attached all necessary documentation to this email), you will receive a confirmation email and then a meeting will be set up (virtually or in person) with their counselor to create a schedule.  Please check your email often for updates.
