In compliance with Utah Senate Bill 69, Hunter High School is implementing an updated electronic device policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our goal is to maximize student learning and reduce distractions, and create an environment where all students can fully engage in their education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our New Phone Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phones Are Off and Away.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Phones must be turned off and put away (not in pockets, hoodies, or on desks) during the school day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Phones will be placed in classroom pouches.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    When Can You Use Your Device?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • During Lunch:<\/strong> You may use your device during lunch in the cafeteria.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Not During a Hall Pass:<\/strong> You may not use your device while on a hall pass.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Consequences for Violations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • 1st Violation:<\/strong> Device is confiscated and held in the office. Student may pick up the device at the end of the school day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • 2nd Violation:<\/strong> Device is confiscated and held in the office. A parent or guardian must pick up the device at the end of the school day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • 3rd Violation & Subsequent Violations:<\/strong> Device is confiscated and held in the office. Student will be placed on an overnight suspension until a parent\/guardian meets with an administrator.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
