Academic Letter 2023

AWARDS
The Academic letters will be awarded each year. An assembly for awardees will be held in May, where recipients will receive a certificate and a pin. Students will be informed of where and when the assembly will be held. These outstanding students are then entitled to purchase a school letter and/or letter jacket or sweater on their own from an outside vendor.  Those students not able to attend the assembly may pick up their certificate and pin following the day of the assembly from the staff member in charge of the award.

GRADE POINT AVERAGE
A student must maintain a *weighted GPA of 3.800 or above for the first, second and third term of the year before application is made. Rounding the GPA is not allowed. The student is expected to meet the same requirement during the fourth term until the letters are awarded. *To determine the weighted GPA for each term, add 0.1 to the term grade point average for each Honors, Concurrent Enrollment, and AP Class.

CITIZENSHIP
No 0’s and no l’s may be accumulated during the first three terms. NO CHANGES WILL BE ACCEPTED UNLESS IT IS DETERMINED THAT A TEACHER ERROR WAS MADE. (No citizenship make-up accepted.)

COURSES
Students applying for an academic letter must complete three classes each quarter chosen from the academic areas of English, world languages, mathematics, science, or social studies.

APPLICATION
Students must apply online by 5:00pm, May 5th, 2023. Link to the application form is available on the school website. Students are not automatically rewarded for meeting the qualifications without applying. NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE DEADLINE!

Please fill out this form completely for your application to be considered. The information should be based on your third quarter report card, which is available in gradebook.

Summer Programs

Credit Recovery will run June 5th – 8th and June 12th – 15th from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. After that, it will be offered each Wednesday throughout the summer from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Summer Driver’s Ed – two courses are offered during the month of June. 7:00 am – 9:00 am and 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Please check with the Main Office to pay BEFORE June 5th.

2023-2024 Registration

Online Registration will begin in July. We will host an in-person registration day for those who need assistance on August 1st.

9th Grade Orientation

This will be held on the first day of school at 7:30 am. 10th-12th graders will start at 9:30.
