Extracurricular programs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Kennedy participates in inter-school sports in Volleyball, Basketball, Cross Country, Wrestling, Track and Soccer. Kennedy has a strong intramural program in sports. Students can participate in chorus, band, orchestra, drama, and dance as part of their regular class schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
School background<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Kennedy was opened in the fall of 1969, celebrating the 50 year anniversary in 2019. Students who live beyond two miles from the school are provided school bus transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Enrollment<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Kennedy serves approximately 750 students, from multiple diverse backgrounds and ethnicity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Student promotion<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Kennedy students advance to Hunter High School, Granger High School and Kearns High School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Computers and technology<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Kennedy has a computer network system that is accessed by every classroom in the building. The Media center is a central lab that can be used by all students for research, with access to online information and many other library systems. Students have access to a chromebook for use in each classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Safety<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Teachers escort students outside during fire drills and remain with their classes. An evacuation that involves leaving the building, will result in a gathering at the LDS church located just north of the Kennedy Jr. High. Parents will pick up students from that location ONLY when instructed to do so.
