Parents/Guardians of Mill Creek students,
Two very important parent meetings are taking place this week. They are both informational, however the end results would have an impact on our school.
First, on Monday, May 20, 6:30 – 7:30 pm. Roosevelt Elementary is hosting an informational meeting regarding potential boundary changes. The proposal could potentially change Mill Creek’s boundaries to the north to include some of Roosevelt’s families. The benefit to us would be increasing our student population by 50-80 students starting in the 2020-2021 school year. This would potentially add 2-3 new classes to our small school.
Second, on Tuesday, May 21, @ 7:00pm, Olympus High School is hosting an informational meeting regarding potential reconfiguration of schools within our Olympus Network. This informational meeting is to share the process the network will take to consider re-aligning grades to kindergarten to 5th in elementary schools, 6th – 8th grades in junior highs, and 9th – 12th grades at Olympus High. The earliest this would occur is starting with the 2021-2022 school year.
I’ve attached fliers for both meetings. If you are interested, please attend. If you are unable to attend and have questions, feel free to reach out to me. I can answer your questions or refer you to those who can.
And just like that, here we are at the final week of school! I hope you will take a few minutes to reflect on the growth of your children and all that they have accomplished this school year. They have learned so much and have grown in so many ways! Thank you for trusting us with your children and for supporting us as we provided a positive learning environment for them. Thank you!
