The Granite District School Board commissioned a study to determine how to remodel and rebuild our aging buildings. The study resulted in some recommendations for financing this vital program. Please go to http://gsdfuture.org/ to learn about the options the Board is considering.
Early this summer, our front entry way will be remodeled to insure greater security for our students. After the change, all patrons must sign in at the front office and be buzzed in by one of the office staff. Each person entering beyond that point will have an identifying sticker. In addition, the north and south doors will only be used for student entry and exit. Please get in the habit of coming in the front door, signing in and placing an identifying sticker on. When you want a student checked out, come to the office and let our staff call them out of class. We have been lax in our insistence that everyone follow this procedure. Next year, we will have an easier time helping everyone comply, but please follow this safety procedure now. Thank you.
With the huge snowfall in January, I extend my thanks to Becky Gutke, our head custodian. On snow days she arrives early to plow, shovel and de-ice the entire campus. She comes in during holidays as well to get on top of the work. She works very hard for the safety of our students. She loves them.
Finally, thanks to everyone who supports our charitable efforts. Our service club, our food drive, donations to our PTA and school fundraising, and the recent effort to help the family whose house burned. Mrs. Davis’s class held a little bake sale that raised $1,000 for the Lang family. Wow!
