Parents and caregivers,
Thank you for your patience as we work to get instruction online and ready for students to begin learning from home on Wednesday. Teachers are busy creating online resources (as well as paper resources for homes without the internet), they will be reaching out today or tomorrow with specific instructions.
We are also preparing Chromebooks for check-out. We will be checking out computers tomorrow (Tuesday, March 17) at 12:30-3:30 and Wednesday (3/18) from 8:30-3:30. If you can’t make it to the school during these windows, please contact us at 385-646-4924 to set-up a time. Our school has a 1:1 student to computer ratio, therefore we will have a Chromebook for all of our Morningside students should they need it.
I have created a FAQ page on our website that should be able to answer many of the questions you have about our soft dismissal. If you can’t see the answer to your question on our website please reach out, I will be update the FAQs as needed. The FAQ page is here: https://schools.graniteschools.org/morningside/
On a personal note, I want to send a huge THANK YOU to our Morningside community for your response during this situation. It has been a humbling experience to make a complete turn and work together as a faculty to move instruction out of the building to a distance learning platform. Your emails to me and to faculty members with words of encouragement and kindness have not gone unnoticed, they have been the bright spots in our days. We are working hard so we can continue to provide the same quality of instruction that students’ enjoyed in the classroom to their distance learning platforms, this is a learning curve that we will tackle each day. Please feel free to reach out to teachers with questions, concerns, clarifications; teachers are standing by to assist. As always, you are also welcome to contact me at areese@graniteschools.org.
Thank you,
Anne
