Welcome! We are excited to have you in Granite School District and look forward to a fantastic kindergarten school year for your child. The following will help you understand the kindergarten registration process. Children must be 5 years old on or before September 1 to enroll for kindergarten. (Utah Code 53G-4-401)
Kindergarten Registration is a 3-Step Process:
Step 1: Submit basic information: Click on this Pre-registration form and fill out the basic information online.
Step 2: The school will receive your pre-registration form, contact you further with information, and arrange a time to pick up your registration packet.
Step 3: You will have an appointment time set up by the school to arrive in-person and provide the following required documents:
- Child’s birth certificate
- Child’s immunization records– including dates of all shots, or exception certificates
- Proof of address (examples: utility bill or rental agreement)
- Parent/guardian photo ID
If you do not have access to the internet, you may pre-register and obtain a registration packet directly at the school but will need to call ahead to schedule an appointment.
If you know of families with kindergarten-age children who will be attending school next year, please share this information with them.
Individuals with Disabilities
Granite School District is interested in alleviating any unnecessary stress to individuals with disabilities. When students with disabilities are beginning school for the first time in a Granite school, they and their parents are encouraged to contact the school principal, school social worker, or school psychologist to discuss any concerns they may have about enrollment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Your child will need to be immunized prior to coming to school. If you choose not to immunize, a waiver (obtained through the health department) will need to be submitted with registration. Please visit this link to see the information from the Utah Department of Health.
Granite District has created an informational brochure for parents and caregivers to understand the developmental stages Kindergarten children are experiencing. Learn what we will be teaching in Kindergarten, and how you can support your child at home. Here are the brochures in English and Spanish.
