Dear Parents,
I hope this finds you well. I know we are all wondering about what school will look like in the fall. Right now we have been told that district officials have put a together a committee and are working with the Utah State Board of Education, the Utah Department of Health, and Governor Herbert’s office on a plan for schooling in the fall. While we know they are discussing options, they have communicated that the hardest part of all of this is that there are a lot of things we do not know yet. They have assured us that they will get information out as fast as they can and whatever they decide will be implemented similarly district wide and not something decided at the school level. I know this causes concern where health and childcare are concerned, I will get all information to you as soon as I get it. Please know that Morningside teachers and staff are committed to planning for all scenarios to provide the best possible school experience for our students! We have learned a lot since the March 13, 2020 school dismissal/initiation of distance learning and we will use what worked and tweak what did not to ensure a successful start to school.
The Granite School District Board of Education and Morningside Elementary are conducting their annual parent satisfaction survey to help measure progress towards district goals. Your response is valued. It will be reviewed and incorporated in our efforts to continuously improve support to you. The survey should only take 10-15 minutes to complete and the survey includes questions about your distance learning experience. Survey link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GSDParent20
Morningside’s office will be open through June 11, 2020. Please feel free to email me throughout the summer if you have questions areese@graniteschools.org. Plans for registration are ongoing, for families returning to Morningside registration will be completed online, I will reach out again soon when we have received additional information.
Thank you,
Anne Reese
