Yesterday was the kick-off of our Granite Education Foundation Fundraiser! After a fun-filled assembly, each student received an envelope with a Wasatch Savings guide and fundraising information. We receive half of the proceeds, $12.50. We use these funds to pay our Visual Arts teacher – Sabrina Theodore, Dance Teachers – side by side teaching for our kindergarten through 4th grade students, and our Music Specialist – Joann Meitler. The total amount needed to keep these programs at Oakridge is approximately $30,000 a year.
The Wasatch Savings Guide fundraiser is provided by the Granite Education Foundation. Their portion of the proceeds go towards grants teachers may apply for to purchase things needed in the classroom. Last year, our first grade received a grant from the Foundation to purchase informational texts.
We appreciate your willingness to participate in this fundraiser. If you prefer not to purchase the Wasatch Savings guide, you are welcome to make a donation to the school. Students may turn in an envelope to the office with their name, their teacher’s name, and the exact amount of $12.50 or multiples of $12.50. Students bringing in donations will get to participate in the prizes and their class will get credited toward earning a root beer float party.
Thank you for your support of Oakridge Elementary and the Granite Education Foundation.
