Report cards will be coming home on Friday, November 2. As you look at your child’s first quarter report card, remember that grades are intended to communicate progress toward mastery of grade level content standards. They are intended to indicate at the end of the quarter what a student knows and is able to do with respect to objectives that have been explicitly taught. For a detailed report of your students’ mastery on standards assessed during first quarter, please check in Parent Portal.

The grading scale is different than traditional scales. All opportunities to “show what you know” are based on the following 1-4 scale:
- Below Proficient
“I am just starting to learn this and need explicit help.”
2. Approaching Proficient
“I can do this with minimal support.”
“I can do this on my own.”
***This is the grade-level expectation for all students.***
4. Above Proficient
“I can do this on my own AND demonstrate learning that is above and beyond proficiency.”
***Only applicable on certain standards.***
Check out the Proficiency-Based Grading section on our school website for more information.
