Each year the school provides a student questionnaire where parents/guardians of current Oakwood students can submit information to the school to determine class sizes, teacher assignments, plan financial budgets to best fit our school’s needs, and to give our teachers information to plan for their next year’s students. This was sent out to all patrons in February.
Yes, it is not a teacher request form, nor will our school provide a teacher request form. Our teachers are also given the direction to not promise parents the placement of any student with a specific teacher. We base the assigning of students on evening out class sizes, assessment data, behavior, and special services. It is a collaborative effort on the part of the school administration, student support team members, and grade level teachers (a student’s current and future teachers) to place each student. A student’s teacher will be made available in August through FOCUS.
