Olympus Parents and Students,
This is just a reminder that we will be giving the statewide ACT to all juniors on Wednesday February 20, 2019. The test is free to all 11th grade students and this year they will also be completing the writing portion.
If you have a junior please make sure that they get plenty of sleep the night before, have breakfast and any snacks they want for the breaks (the school will also provide water and granola bars for the two breaks as well).
Students can check with their math teachers about allowable calculators that can be used on the ACT and we have also used Land Trust money to purchase calculators that students can check out from the library free of charge (they will need to check them out on Friday or Monday).
For sophomores and seniors we will have the gym, commons and career center computer lab open for students to work on homework, scholarship applications, etc. Teachers will not be available during this time as they will be proctoring the ACT. If you are a sophomore and senior and attend the GTI on B days, it will be a normal class day and buses will run as normal.
Also in preparation for the ACT we will be having all of our juniors pre-bubble their ACT pre-sections so they can just focus on the testing on the 20th. As a reminder if your student is taking Concurrent Enrollment classes they should list Salt Lake Community College as one of their colleges so that they receive the results and will help with transcripts.
