Most importantly, students should know that undocumented students, with and without Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), can attend college in Utah! Earning college credits while still in high school can help students save time and money once they attend college.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scholarships<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While government identification in the form of a Social Security Number or A-Number is a requirement to receive state and federal aid, Utah high school graduates do not need to provide proof of citizenship to qualify for privately funded scholarships.<br><a href=\"https:\/\/immigrantsrising.org\/resource\/list-of-scholarships-and-fellowships\/\">Immigrants Rising<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.u-iac.com\/services-6-1\">(link)<\/a> and the Immigrants Tab of <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1EeVtWjvQzhqaGlTqQs_KgcAHpNjJRTiLw-aJNpnEBV8\/edit?usp=sharing\">Granite Scholarships (Google spreadsheet)<\/a> includes scholarships for immigrant (undocumented, DACA, non-FAFSA-eligible, etc.) students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In-State Tuition Waiver<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Utah\u2019s House Bill 144, passed in 2002, allows qualifying undocumented and DACAmented high school graduates to pay in-state tuition rates if they attend a Utah public college or university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To qualify, students must have attended a Utah high school for 3+ years, graduated or earned a GED in Utah, and submit an affidavit stating they will adjust their immigration status as soon as eligible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SLCC Summer semester is also always the in-state rate. Taking classes at SLCC in the summer is more affordable for students who do not qualify for in-state tuition normally.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FAFSA Eligibility<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/understand-aid\/eligibility\/requirements\/non-us-citizens?utm_source=chatgpt.com\">Eligibility for Non-U.S. Citizens (link)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Additional Support and Information<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regardless of which college a student plans to attend, the Dream Centers have important information for undocumented students. Below is a list of online undocumented resources offered at Utah\u2019s other public colleges and universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/dream.utah.edu\/\">University of Utah (link)<\/a> is home to the first Dream Center in the state.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.slcc.edu\/dreamcenter\/\">Salt Lake Community College (link)<\/a> is home to the second Dream Center in the state, and they offer the <a href=\"https:\/\/slcc.edu\/dreamcenter\/scholarship\/index.aspx\">Dreamers Scholarship (link)<\/a> 3 times per school year!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adulting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Guide to being a grown up \u2013 includes information on insurance, jobs, college, voting registration, and more!&nbsp;<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/parentslettinggo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Grown-up-Stuff-Explained-Free-Copy.pdf\">Grown Up Stuff Explained (PDF)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mental Health<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are in crisis, come to the counseling center ASAP.
