Dear Parents and Students,

A huge thank you to Big Daddys Pizza for donating the pizza for our monthly birthday celebration each month.

HALLOWEEN & COSTUMES:

Students and Teaches are permitted to wear costumes on Halloween.  Please remember to keep them school appropriate, fit in the dress code, no masks or props.  This will keep it safe and fun for everyone. The fall dance will be after school 12:30-1:30 on October 31.

BATTLE OF THE BOOKS

Battles will begin in February or March. Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams for each grade. Participation prizes are also available.

For each book read students should fill out the bookmark on the B.O.B. display in the library. Winners will be drawn from the individual entries.

TALENT SHOW TRYOUTS:

The talent show tryouts are coming up. Prepare your best talent to perform and display for all to enjoy.  We are always looking for a variety of fun and interesting talents.  Sign-ups began on October 15 and end Oct. 30. Tryouts are on Nov. 4&5 and the talent show will be on Nov. 13th.

SUICIDE PREVENTION TRAINING

Our school is participating in SOS Signs of Suicide which teaches warning signs for suicide and how to ACT (Acknowledge, Care, Tell) to get help if you are worried about yourself or a friend.

During advisory on Monday, October 27, students will watch SOS video clips and discuss them together. After the lesson, all students will complete an exit slip asking if you would like to speak to an adult. After class, we will check in with any student who wants to talk.

We hope that the class discussions will give an opportunity for students to share their questions, concerns, and ideas. But if any student finds the discussion difficult, they will not be required to participate. Students will be able to take a break if needed, and counselors will be available to help anyone who is having a tough time.

If students would like to opt out of the presentation, please email Mr. Robison at darobison1@graniteschools.org.

BASKETBALL:

The basketball season for both boys and girls will begin on Oct. 29 for intramurals.  The 29th is the informational meeting in the auditorium @ 3 pm. Teams will be selected on Nov. 14 with the first game played on Nov. 19th .
