Orchard Parents,
Last night, you should have received an email from our District letting you know that all schools in Granite District will enact distance learning for the next four school days. These four days will be Tuesday, January 18, through Friday, January 21 (Monday, January 17 is a holiday). Students will return for in-person learning on Monday, January 24. As a result of this change to distance learning, our school will be providing distance learning packets for all of our students. Teachers have worked very hard to prepare learning packets to help students continue their learning. In each packet, teachers will provide a daily schedule for what your child will need to do each day. Teachers will also provide how to reach them during the regular school hours. Please note, teachers will only be available Tuesday-Thursday from 8:10-2:55 and Friday from 8:10-12:50. If you reach out after these times, please allow teachers the next day to respond.
On Tuesday, January 18, from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm, we will distribute learning packets. Breakfast and lunch are available to pick up from 9:00-11:00. Please let your child’s teacher know if you cannot come during the packet pick-up time.
Our guidance from the district stated, “We hope this time will be an opportunity to reduce the spread of COVID 19 and give our teachers and students time to regain their health. We appreciate your support and help to continue your student’s learning and education during this difficult time. We thank you in advance for your support of our schools during this challenging time.”
Please know we love each of your students and our community. We love seeing your student(s) at school every day. Please do what you can to keep everyone in your home safe and healthy so we can see you back in person on Monday, January 24. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to email or call me.
Thanks!
Ms. Holt
